Grasshopper Pie and a Tiny Tunic

I got the new Nigella Lawson cookbook for Christmas. Actually I got a lot of cookbooks, which I love. There is something about reading a really good cookbook with lots of pictures. It is soothing to me in some way. Anyway, the first thing I made from Nigella Kitchen was Grasshopper Pie for my MIL's birthday this weekend. We love birthdays around here and I love a good reason to make a special dessert. It turned out great, like mint chocolate chip ice cream that does not melt. Dreammy.

The effort was actually minimal except for the mild disagreement with J as to whether it was worth the money spent on new bottles of creme de menth and creme de cocao. I'm saying I guess I will have to make a lot of pie to use up all of that liquor. Oh well.

Also a tiny tunic is in the works. I ordered the Oliver + S, Swingset Tunic and Skirt pattern from Sew Mama Sew over the holidays. There was a sale. So I'm making one up for E in 3-6 mos. size. Fabric is from my stash, Jo Ann's, I think.

Coming up next a proper new year welcome and hopefully finished tunic pics. xoxo
